The Arts and Letters Society

The ARTS AND LETTERS SOCIETY brings accomplished performers, artists, art specialists, and arts organizations to the prison to discuss their work and present it. We have hosted ballet dancers, painters, poets, singers, theatrical actors, concerts, writers, tap dancers, and docents from the museum with a paintings slide show. The audience is guided in proper attending and focusing behaviors. Pat is the emcee and opens the session with stories, often humorous, that lend themselves to the topic of the day. Our musician, Nancy, also plays for these sessions. Her music is an important ingredient to the success of the sessions. The visiting artist is also interviewed by Pat and there is a Q and A. The session is an hour long.
